When the date of dedication is unknown, the Dedication Festival may be observed on the first Sunday of October (7 October), or on the Last Sunday after Trinity (28 October), or on a suitable date chosen locally.
If the Dedication Festival is not observed on Sunday 28 October, then this Sunday may be observed as either the Last Sunday after Trinity or as the Festival of Simon and Jude.

Blessed Lord,
who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning:
help us so to hear them,
to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them
that, through patience, and the comfort of your holy word,
we may embrace and for ever hold fast
the hope of everlasting life,

who is alive and reigns with you,
